the story
The company was founded in 1977 as a sole proprietorship of its namesake , Walter Becchetti, who after an initial experience as a sales agent for a cookie company decided to start his own dairy products business covering the city of Perugia and the Upper Tiber Valley.
The headquarters is a small warehouse in Ponte San Giovanni, but the distribution area covered from provincial becomes regional and extra-regional: the turnover increases, the first employees arrive and the first G.D.O. contract.
In 1998, Ilaria, Walter’s eldest daughter, joined the company, inheriting from her father the fundamental values that still characterize the business today: the quality of the products and punctuality in the service offered, as well as the importance of caring about customer relations and the attention given to them.
In 2003, the available space was no longer enough to hold the orders and volume of products: so the company decided to move to Miralduolo di Torgiano, still the company’s operational headquarters. The new state-of-the-art facility allows for dedicated areas for storage, loading and unloading as well as administrative offices and the retail outlet where products can be purchased directly.
In 2008, Walter’s other daughter Laura also joined the company, and in the same year thecompany changed from a sole proprietorship to an S.R.L. In 2015, sacrifices and passion are rewarded with the acquisition, with high scores, of two important industry certifications: theIFS LOGISTICS and theIFS BROKER, demonstrating the very high standards of quality and food safety with which the company operates.
Continuous pursuit of quality products that meet strict quality standards, careful selection of highly qualified suppliers, as well asattention to service delivery and focus on each customer, have made it possible to embark on a journey-now close to half a century of history-in which from small distributors the company has become a point of reference for the supply of dairy excellence for the G.D.O. and for operators in the catering sector, counting among its customers even the most prestigious regional establishments.
